About the Position

We are looking for an eager and excited fall intern who’s ready to dive into all aspects of a consumer-facing, ecommerce startup. We’re offering credit through your school’s program for this position. You’ll work directly with cross-functional leaders to collaborate on projects and initiatives that help drive us towards our company-wide goals. This is a great opportunity to gather hands-on experience in a startup environment, make meaningful connections in the venture-backed startup space, and have a direct impact on key deliverables.   • A diligent self-starter. You exhaust all available resources before reaching out with a question and do your homework before important meetings. You’re always prepared and two steps ahead of the tasks assigned to you.
  • An organized builder. If the tool or process you need doesn’t exist, you build it yourself. You’re a pro at identifying inefficiencies and eliminating.
  • Ready for a Big Role at a Startup. You’re not easily intimidated by tackling projects and you’re comfortable managing your workflow in an unstructured environment—even (and especially) when priorities shift quickly.

What you’ll do…

  • Have visibility to the entire design/production process from concept through launch by sitting in cross functional meetings.
  • Assist in cost negotiations between production team, merchandising team, and factories. Work with design on cost options to meet company cost goals.
  • Receive submits (samples, lab dips, strike-offs) from factories, review with the design team for comments to communicate back to the factories
  • Assist in preparing inspection paperwork to submit to 3rd party company, ensuring all finished goods meet quality standards. Once inspected, review the report with team to ensure shipment.
  • Attend fittings and vendor meetings to take notes, record action items, and ask questions
  • Organize samples for the technical apparel design team as needed.
  • Manage deliveries to and from vendors and partners by receiving, reviewing and passing deliveries to team.

Other Requirements and Considerations:

  • A current student in a NY-based study program or university eligible to work for credit
    • Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design preferred
  • Must show initiative and ability to step in when needed.
  • Ability to think on your feet and not get flustered when priorities shift.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
