About the Position:

This position works directly with our Senior Designer to assist in all aspects of seasonal apparel development by working with Design, Product Development, and Merchandising teams.

 

What you’ll do...

  • Assist in sketching Illustrator flats and creating design product packages
  • Assist in creating seasonal concepts including style, color, fabric, print, pattern and graphics
  • Prepare materials for development (e.g. color, fabric and trim cards, etc.)
  • Complete assigned portions of product packages including flat sketches and BOMs
  • Create and maintain line sheets
  • Assist in preparing and documenting presentation boards for key milestone meetings
  • Assist in approval of all strike-offs, hand looms, and knit-downs
  • Maintain and organize seasonal binders, inspiration and production samples
  • Partner with Senior Designer to communicate changes and updates to cross-functional partners
  • Participate in research and development of seasonal trends.
  • Participate in fittings—Record and log design updates..
  • Prepare materials for trend/concept work sessions and final line review meetings

  • A quick thinker.  You don’t get flustered when priorities shift.
  • An excellent technical drawer with the ability to detail garment construction quickly.
  • Always aware of current and future trends. Whether it’s runway or street style, you’re able to translate trends into the kids market. You have excellent color sense, a high taste level, and an eye for fashion direction and future trends.
  • A clear communicator. You’ve got strong verbal and written communication skills and you’re not afraid to ask questions to get it right.
  • A collaborative team player. You’re eager to build strong cross functional partnerships with a positive, can-do attitude.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree, apparel design preferred
  • High proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel
  • 0-2 years Design experience
