About the Position

Rockets of Awesome is looking for an entry level marketer to grow two key areas of the business: social media and affiliate marketing.

For social media, you will be responsible for content development, production, and execution. You will own the social media content calendar, ensuring it ladders up to the company Marketing calendar and drives company KPIs. You will own all social media reporting and analysis. The person who will succeed in this role is obsessive about all social media channels, extremely active in these channels themselves, always testing and learning about the latest tools and tech in the social media space, is extremely proactive, curious about what our audience responds to, is naturally capturing content at all times, and is excited to take the lead on creating all social content for Rockets of Awesome.

For affiliate marketing, you will be responsible for building out and aggressively growing the ROA Affiliate network. This channel represents a significant revenue driving opportunity for ROA and has the potential for having a huge impact on the overall business. This role involves a large focus on daily active recruitment of new affiliates, creating weekly marketing affiliate newsletters, managing the commissions and promotions structure, and seeking out innovative ways to drive growth in this channel.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Marketing.


What you’ll do...

    • Responsible for creating, managing and executing upon the social media content calendar
    • Responsible for working closely with the Brand Manager and creative team to create monthly social content strategy and franchises to bring the brand to life and drive follower growth and engagement rate growth
    • Responsible for creating the majority of the social content
    • Responsible for weekly reporting on what worked and what didn’t with focus on annual and monthly targets
    • The team expert on everything social, you help inform how social media contributes to every 360 campaign
    • Responsible for aggressive acquisition of new affiliates to join the ROA program in order to hit the annual revenue targets
    • Responsible for becoming an expert in affiliate marketing
    • Own affiliate marketing calendar and create on-brand marketing newsletters to send to affiliates on regular cadence
    • Own management of affiliate platform and ongoing commission and promotion structure
    • Responsible for briefing in all creative assets you need to support program growth
    • Responsible for weekly reporting on KPIs
    • Build 360 marketing strategies with the marketing team for big seasonal campaigns.
    • Contribute to driving the business in any way the team needs.

  • Extremely motivated entrepreneurial self-starter who can work independently but also builds strong relationships and trust working across teams and integrating cross-functionally.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to translate concepts into actionable plans.
  • Scrappy startup mentality.  Can take-action and propose new ideas and solutions before asked.
  • Adapts easily to changing environments and demonstrates flexibility in shifting goals and priorities.
  • Someone with 0-2 years experience in marketing, ideally within a D2C business or agency; ecommerce experience is a huge plus! (valid internship experience, also a plus!)
